About

Alexander Söderholm is a Scientific Analyst – Drug markets and crime, at the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA). Prior to his current role, he worked as a Scientific writer and policy analyst at the EUDA between 2021 and 2024. Before joining the EUDA, Alexander worked as an independent consultant on drug research and policy projects for a range of different organisations, including Johns Hopkins University, the EUDA, Open Society Justice Initiative, the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime, the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC), M&C Saatchi World Services, among others. He also worked as a Policy Coordinator and Head of the Middle East Initiative at the LSE International Drug Policy Unit (2015-2020), and as the Managing Editor and Co-Founder of the Journal of Illicit Economies and Development (2019-2020). He holds an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Birmingham.
