About
Mr. Ezazul Islam Chowdhury is a Public Health professional, joined in Save the Children in May 2019. His primary role is to provide strategic guidance to the team, particularly to initiate evidence-based intervention, support in advocacy and other guidance in the effort to decriminalize drug use, integrate KP service in government hospitals and human rights related effort, and ensure better community engagement in the prevention activities. In his around two decades carrier in the development field, he contributed a lot in national HIV response. He was one of the key persons who started advocacy for Opioid Substitution in Bangladesh and engaged in piloting, scaleup and quality improvement of the services. While in icddr,b, he took part in various milestone research initiatives as Investigators and played a vital role in generating evidence for harm reduction programme. He is members of various national and international working groups/association and also advisor of PWID and Sex Workers Network of Bangladesh.
