About

Dr. Francina Fonseca is a doctor, specialist in Psychiatry and Director of the Addiction Care Process at Parc de Salut Mar. She began her work in Addictions in 2001, which she has dedicated herself to since then.

In the teaching field, she is an associate professor of care in the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences at the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona. He teaches classes in the subjects of Psychiatry, Doctor-Patient Relationship and Neuroscience of Addiction.

At a scientific level, it is linked to the Research Network in Primary Care of Addictions (RIAPAD – RD21/0009/0001). His research activity has focused mainly on the study of biological markers in addictions and Dual Pathology; His doctoral thesis studied genetic differences in methadone maintenance treatment and therapeutic response. He has led studies related to this line of research in relation to the neurobiological bases of dual depression.

She actively participates in various scientific societies: Vice President of the Catalan Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health; Training Member of the Spanish Society of Dual Pathology; Secretary of the Addictions Section of the European Psychiatric Association, and member of the International Society of Addiction Medicine and has always participated actively with EUROPAD.
