About
Activist for people who use drugs rights. Expert in drug policy, harm reduction and public policies, working from intersectionality to achieve efficient public policies, specially focusing on the engagement of women, trans women and non-binaries experiencing multiple violence. Member of the Executive Committee of EuroNPUD, Campaigns Coordinator and responsible for EuroNPUD peer-led research within the BOOST project related to client's feedback of HCV related services. Dedicated to foster peer-led initiatives such as self-managed spaces for People Who Use Drugs. Interested in research oriented to community inclusion in the design and implementation of innovative policies, programs and practices based on co-production. Bachelor in Political Science and International Relations and Master in Economics and Public Policies. PhD candidate in Development Studies (ICS-University of Lisbon) on social movements of people who use drugs and drug policy "Making visible the invisible". Volunteering with women and non-binary people who use drugs at the grassroots collective MANAS (which Joana is a co-founder).
