Thomas Santo Jr., BA, MPH, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NDARC, specialising in epidemiology, data linkage, and observational research. His PhD focused on the impact of trauma and mental disorders on opioid dependence. Santo has authored 21 peer-reviewed articles, contributing to clinical guidelines and policy recommendations for substance use treatment, with citations from WHO, UNAIDS, and UNODC. His current research centres on substance dependence in vulnerable populations, particularly incarcerated individuals, and he collaborates with community groups and international organisations on projects related to opioid dependence and blood-borne virus treatment in prisons.
