Recreational cannabis legalisation in the Americas – design considerations and possible futures

Since 2012, Canada, Uruguay, and a dozen jurisdictions in the United States have passed laws to repeal the prohibition on cannabis and legalize supply for adults. Jurisdictions considering or implementing alternatives to cannabis supply prohibition confront several decisions that will influence health, safety, and social equity outcomes. Based on a series of research collaborations and consultations with jurisdictions that have changed their cannabis laws, this presentation will discuss some of the design considerations and possible futures for cannabis legalisation.
