Abstract

‘Harm reduction’ is a focus of interventions that aim to reduce the harmfulness of using a product as opposed to preventing that use or increasing cessation. ‘Nicotine harm reduction’ refers to interventions that aim to reduce the harmfulness of nicotine use. This presentation will present an analysis of all the ways that this might be done, including product substitution, changes to the design of products, reducing the frequency of use by individuals, and improvements in mitigation of the health impacts of use.
