About

Graduated in Foreign Applied Languages and European law and got a post graduate in international trade. Although, her background was more to work within the industry, her wish was to work with an international Governmental Organization and she was delighted to join the Council of Europe in 1989. Since then, she has mostly worked with the Pompidou Group, Council of Europe’s partial agreement on Cooperation Group to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs, with the exception of a two year experience where she worked as a free-lance translator in UK. During the first 10 years within the Pompidou Group, she had the chance to work with researchers in the field of epidemiology of drug problems. In the early 2000s, she started to work on the cooperation in the Mediterranean Region in the field of drugs and drug addiction with the setting up of the MedNET, a network of 17 countries. Since 2012, she has been entrusted with the task of developing Pompidou Group activities in the field of integration of a gender dimension in the drug policy.
