About

Dr Bowden-Jones is a consultant in addiction psychiatry and honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College London.

In 2010, Owen founded the CNWL Club Drug Clinic, the UK’s largest multi-disciplinary service specialising in the problem use of drugs such as ketamine, methamphetamine, GHB, emerging psychoactive substances and prescription medications.

Owen leads project NEPTUNE, which has developed clinical guidance and e-learning on the management of novel psychoactive substances across the clinical frontline.

National roles include clinical adviser to the Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco division at Public Health England and Chair of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, an independent expert body which advises the UK Government on drug-related issues.​​

Owen is passionate about education and wrote the award winning book, The Drug Conversation, to help parents navigate conversations with their children on this complex topic.
