About

Dr. Sigmon is a Tenured Associate Professor in the University of Vermont College of Medicine with 25 years of experience conducting addiction research, particularly developing more efficacious treatments for opioid addiction in rural, underserved areas. She is Director of the first and largest opioid treatment clinic in Vermont, which treats 1,000 opioid-dependent patients. Dr. Sigmon is Past President of the American Psychological Association’s Division on Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse and in 2020 will serve as President of The College on Problems of Drug Dependence, the first and largest US organisation dedicated to advancing the scientific study of addiction.
