Creation of a database in Annaba’s addictional department

Abstract

Introduction: In Algeria, addictions’s data come from several but non exhaustive sources: -Psychological and mental health data from psychiatrists, care providers working in hospitals, intermediate centers, and liberal offices). -Addictive health consequences’s data are incompletely gathered from physicians. -The other source is from both security and judicial services.

In Annaba, there is not a complete addiction’s database. Its addictions’s departemant, startes in february, caring inpatients of 6 eastern towns. With its inpatients and outpatients parts, the department participates to care, prevention and rehabilitation actions, for Annaba’s and eastern addictive population, with the intermediate centers of the 5 other towns.

The aim is the creation of a valid addiction’s medical and social network and database in Annaba.

Method: The target data are divided into 2 principal fields : medical field (addictional, psychological, psychiatric, physical, biological) and social field (with social assistants, family, associations). We didn’t include the justicial field. We creat a groundwork and pass to digitazed data forms. 2 networks are created. -The first with Annaba’s department in the center, then at level1 the psychiatrist hospital Abou Bakr Er Razi care givers, then the level 2 countains the other health services in Annaba, the 3rd lever , with, the mental health care points, departmnents and intermediate structures of the 5 towns. -An other network with the association of medical, psychological and social data.

Results: We collected addictive behaviors’s data on the groundwork, I start the translation and validation of psychological and addictive scales. The first network starts to give its data.

Conclusion: The implementation of a structured way to treat, collect and share addictional data is the first trep to have a baseline addictional data.
