Abstract

he International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) provides a wide range of resources, and professional development opportunities for the drug demand reduction workforce. To help further improve access to professional development and training, ISSUP has recently provided access to online trainings in the areas of prevention, treatment, and recovery support on its website as well as in collaboration with partner organisations. The online self-led and instructor-led courses of the Universal Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Curricula training offered through ISSUP’s Online Learning Hub provide drug demand reduction professionals the option of working through synchronous and asynchronous content and will allow participants to earn education credits toward an International Certified Addiction Professional (ICAP) certification. The Introduction to Evidence-based Prevention (INEP) course is a self-paced online training course that aims to present key principles of substance use prevention. In collaboration with Charles University, ISSUP has launched the "INEP Plus" pilot programme available to ISSUP’s National Chapters. As part of this, ISSUP provided a six-week online training for National Chapter facilitators of INEP Plus. The training assistance provided by the INEP Plus programme is critical to ensuring the efficacy of it.
