Peer education and alcohol consumption: application of a training program for university students

Abstract

The study aims to verify the knowledge about alcohol consumption of volunteers from a Peer Education Program; assess the individual empowerment and self-efficacy of volunteers; evaluate the Peer Education Program according to health evaluation criteria.

The intervention has social relevance based on the problem of alcohol consumption among young adults according to the national survey of the Portuguese population and the data collected with the realization of the Systematic Review of Literature (in progress) for the study. It also aims to contribute to the theoretical gap pointed out by the characterization study of peer education projects around substance consumption psychoactive activities performed by (Silva, 2019).
