About
The session will highlight the global trends in alcohol consumption and their health consequences, including the latest estimates of alcohol-attributable disease burden and available data on the impact of COVID-19 on alcohol consumption and related harm. Two major international developments on alcohol policy will be presented at the session: in May 2022 the World Health Assembly adopted the new Global alcohol action plan for the period of 2022-2030, and the WHO Regional Committee for Europe adopted the European framework for action on alcohol 2022–2025. The session will highlight controversies generated by the action plans.
Light lunch with finger food provided.
