Alcohol - no ordinary commodity, alcohol policies and The Gut-Brain Axis in AUD

The first talk will present the book “Alcohol – no ordinary commodity” which has newly been launched in its third edition. The book presents the accumulated scientific knowledge on alcohol research that has a direct relevance to the development of alcohol policy on local, national, and international levels. The second talk of the session will be from WHO Europe on changes in alcohol policies. The third lecture will involve looking at possible biological mechanisms in alcohol use disorder focusing on the gut-brain axis. 

The second part of the session will involve the announcement of this year's European Addiction research/European Federation of Addiction Societies yearly European Addiction reward, where the awardee gives her lecture
