Treatment for cannabis use disorder: an update focusing in cultural characteristics

Review of current evidence of treatment for cannabis use disorder including pharmacological and motivational interviewing alone or combined with other psychological treatment. Cultural and language adaptation aspects of psychological treatments will be especially remarked. A case example of MI + CBT program (CANDIS) adaptation to Spanish culture of German well-established program will be presented. Role of group therapy on overcoming barriers for cultural adaptation of MI-based programs will be discussed. Pharmacological treatments for CUD will be reviewed taking into account the interaction with psychological treatment and cultural characteristics.
