Dr. Alexandra Collins is a medical social scientist and an Assistant Professor at the Brown University School of Public Health. Her community-based qualitative and ethnographic research focuses on drug use risk environments, harm reduction and overdose prevention, and the role of social, structural, and environmental factors impacting overdose risk and service access among people who use drugs. She is particularly interested in how intersecting social identities like gender, race, and class impact drug policy, practice, and program development.
