About

Andrew Bennett is the Public Health Lead at the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP).

Before joining the MVRP, Andrew supported the National Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Approach to Policing Vulnerability Programme in Wales and implemented trauma and ACE-informed programmes including initiatives to support marginalised people seeking help with substance-related problems.

A former youth worker and drug service manager, Andrew established one of the first syringe exchange programmes in the mid-1980s in the UK. He was the Director at HIT, a national agency providing a range of drugs and other public health interventions from 1992 to 2006.
