Burnout and Engagement in Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies HCWs at Portuguese North Region: an epidemiological study
Abstract
Burnout, depression and anxiety are important variables that impact professional well-being and the quality of responses and care provided in the CAD area. Current literature contextualizes the study of these variables, focusing on different protective factors such as engagement and the dimensions involved in this concept. The present work aims to account for the prevalence of these dimensions among health professionals in the CAD area in the northern region of Portugal.
To this end, a set of questionnaires was available to all professionals in the public care network in the northern region who work on CAD responses - a socio-demographic questionnaire, the UWES-9, the BAT-R, and the HADS.
This work presents the prevalence of the following variables: exhaustion, mental distance cognitive impairment, emotional impairment and overall burnout (BAT-R), vigor, dedication (UWES-9), and depression and anxiety levels (HADS).
