Gambling and global public health: recommendations from the Lancet Public Health Commission on Gambling

This session will outline the key principles of a public health based approach to gambling and discuss the main recommendations from the Lancet Public Health Commission on Gambling.
Drawing together insights from the previous presentations, this session will present the eight main recommendations proposed by the Lancet Public Health Commission on Gambling. It will outline the actions needed to be taken to achieved these and discuss how the global community of researchers, civic society actors and international organisations, like the World Health Organisation, can support their implementation.
Addressing gambling harms requires multi-sectoral, international cooperation, with a clear focus on a achieving improvements to population health by preventing and reducing gambling harms.
