About

Drug markets are changing quickly, with new substances introducing risks that require tailored approaches to health, prevention, and harm reduction. This session will present studies on innovative approaches to monitoring drug trends and markets. One study provides data on drug use patterns in São Paulo's largest open drug scene, emphasising the need for secondary prevention strategies. Another study examines cannabis potency in Dutch 'coffee shops', with insights into market trends and harm reduction. A third study will outline Portugal's national drug control measures and forensic drug analysis. Finally, a study using wastewater-based epidemiology will highlight regional drug use patterns across Spain, with specific trends in amphetamine and methamphetamine use
