About

This panel aims to describe, from a clinical and hospital emergency services perspective, the acute nitazene-related cases identified in outbreaks in Dublin, Ireland and in La Réunion, France; to discuss the findings and challenges of the laboratory identification of these synthetic opioids in clinical and in post mortem cases, including the perspective from the Finnish forensic services;  to discuss the clinical management and messaging with regards naloxone dosing, treatment regimes for nitazenes / other NPS opioids, and related advice (based on the available data to date, and also from a PK/PD perspective); to reflect on the lessons learnt for emergency services preparedness to face similar outbreaks linked to potent synthetic opioids.
