This session focuses on the complex health and social care needs of women who use drugs during pregnancy and the perinatal period. Topics include the pregnancy outcomes and health complications faced by women who inject drugs and a systematic review of interventions for women who use drugs perinatally. The session also explores the experiences of women in integrated, multidisciplinary care during and after pregnancy, highlighting the need for tailored, trauma-informed, and accessible support services to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
