Trauma and substance use

This session explores different aspects of the relationships between substance use and mental health, including the long-term impact of childhood trauma; vulnerabilities and coping strategies. Treatment strategies are also addressed, with presentation of a randomized controlled trial of treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder for people with co-occurring substance use disorder; and a further presentation on implementation of trauma-focused integrated treatment.
