About

Ali Yassine, Associate Programme Officer at UNODC PTRS, currently supports the implementation of UNODC’s Global Programme in the field of drug demand reduction, specifically with regard to scientific evidence-based prevention. Ali is involved in the development and technical assistance delivery of prevention guidelines and tools, in line with the UNODC/WHO International Standards on Drug Use Prevention.

He has been working with UNODC at headquarters since 2021 and has extensive experience working with grassroots organizations, especially in the Middle East region. Prior to UNODC, Ali worked at Atomic Reporters, supporting youth-based educational initiatives. Moreover, he gained experience in international relations during his work at the Austrian Commission for UNESCO and the International Relations Department of Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft (ÖMV). Ali holds two Master’s degrees: one in Public Health from Oxford Brookes University and the other in International Relations from Webster University.
