Bert Hauspie is affiliated as a researcher at HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts within the Research Centre Substance Use and Psychosocial Risk Behaviours – situated in Ghent, Belgium. He started his career as prevention- and harm reduction worker. For eight years he was involved at a peer support- and harm reduction project focused on safer nightlife, with a primary focus on substance use. Gradually he moved towards the academic field where he is mainly doing research on the topic of substance use, with a special focus on prevention, harm reduction and the nightlife setting.
Bert Hauspie is also an affiliated as a researcher at Sciensano within the unit of illicit drugs, situated in Belgium. He started his career in 2011 at a peer support- and harm reduction project focused on safer nightlife, with a primary focus on substance use. Gradually he moved towards the academic field where he is mainly doing research in the areas of substance use, prevention and harm reduction. Most recently, he was able to gain experience in foresight research in the context of the DRUG-PREP project.
