Karine Bertrand, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with expertise in substance use, mental health, and addiction interventions. She’s the scientific director of the Institut universitaire sur les dépendances (Addiction Research Institute) and full professor at University of Sherbrooke in the Community Health Science Department. She held the CIHR research chair in Gender and Intervention in Addiction (“La GID”). She has led studies using qualitative methods, trajectories analysis, and participatory approaches, and has drawn on this research to develop and evaluate a range of interventions and services.
