About
I am currently a Reader in Criminology at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, specializing in illicit drug markets and broader illegal economies. My research also examines human trafficking and how digital technologies are reshaping traditional criminal markets.
My work has been published in several leading international, peer-reviewed journals, including The International Journal of Drug Policy, Crime and Justice, European Journal of Criminology, British Journal of Criminology, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, and Social Networks.
I have received funding from both national and international sources, such as the ESRC, EPSRC, the European Commission, and the Home Office.
Before taking on my current role, I completed my PhD at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan while working as a researcher at Transcrime from 2011 to 2015. I also served as a visiting scholar at the University of Maryland, College Park, from August 2013 to February 2014, collaborating with Professor Peter Reuter.
