About
Roxanne is a Ph.D student at the Université du Québec à Montréal in Canada. Her thesis is focused on highlighting the diversity of videogame players' profiles and associated outcomes. Specifically, her focus has been on identifying latent classes of individuals involved in various types of games and the associated positive and negative factors. She is also analyzing the game involvement, gaming motives and mental health of women who are highly involved in gaming. In addition, Roxanne has been involved in other research on various topics such as: validation of a gaming disorder instrument in Quebec; profiles of Facebook users and associated personality traits; impacts of childhood sexual abuse on nightmare frequency and content in adolescence; parental and romantic relationships of adolescents; protective factors against pain and impairment in adults with chronic illness. Her research is supported by the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Société et Culture (FRQ-SC), the Faculté des Sciences Humaines of Université du Québec à Montréal, the Institut universitaire sur les dépendances (IUD) and the HERMES research team. Clinically, Roxanne's training is focussed on assessment and therapy with children, adolescents and adults using a cognitive-behavioural approach.
