The seminar addresses the pressing issue of heavy alcohol use among youth, highlighting the potential role of parental supply in this problem. Contributions included an exploration of the structure and predictive validity of recovery domains related to alcohol use disorder (AUD) in young adulthood. An 11-year analysis of alcohol-related emergency department presentations among young people in an EU hospital revealed significant trends and implications for treatment. The phenomenon of heavy episodic drinking among French adolescents from 2005 to 2022 was examined, offering insights from a gender perspective. Lastly, a scoping review assessed digital components in interventions aimed at reducing or preventing alcohol use in young people, emphasizing the evolving landscape of treatment options. Overall, the seminar underscores the complexity of AUD in youth and the need for targeted interventions.
