Carolina Pinzón Gómez is a PhD candidate in Psychology at Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia. Her doctoral research focuses on harm reduction strategies for cocaine users. Currently, she is part of the team at the Ministry of Health responsible for implementing Colombia's new drug policy, where she leads the harm reduction initiatives. Carolina also serves as the Director of the Drug Consumption, Public Health, and Education Division at the Centro de Estudios sobre Seguridad y Drogas (CESED). In this role, she advocates for a broad and informed debate on drug policies in Colombia and Latin America. Her work has primarily focused on research and interventions related to drug use in prisons, leisure settings, and through digital media. Carolina was awarded the National Digital Journalism Prize in 2019 for her work with the NGO Deliberar.
