About

Ancella Voets has been working in the harm reduction field for 20 years; first as an outreach worker in her home country the Netherlands and later in various positions across Central and Eastern Europe and Eastern and Southern Africa. She has spent several years living and working in Tanzania and Mozambique, in both countries as part of the teams implementing the first harm reduction services there. Currently she is the head of the Knowledge, Learning and Partnerships team at Mainline in the Netherlands, partnering with community-based organisations working with or led by people who use drugs, supporting them in implementing harm reduction services and advocating for (drug) policy changes. She is passionate about reducing inequalities, fighting injustices and contributing to the agency and the wellbeing of people who have been marginalised by governments and societies, such as people who use drugs, sex workers, ethnic and sexual minorities, refugees and migrants.
