About
Anna Grech is a psychotherapist in private practice, academic psychologist and lecturer with the Department of Psychology at the University of Malta. She specialised in the areas of drug and alcohol addiction, conducting her research in Malta and the UK. Her main research interests surround the study of the addiction career, relapse and desistance, drug use amongst young people and drug prevention. Apart from her commitments at University, Dr. Grech has been engaged in a number of both local and international entities in her areas of specialisation. In Malta, she is an expert researcher in addiction and has been involved in drug and alcohol policy and as lead researcher in projects for the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society. She was responsible for setting up and heading the National Focal Point for Drugs and Drug Addiction. She previously served as a Member of the Malta Parole Board and is currently a Member of the National Addictions Advisory Board and the Malta Psychology Profession Board.
