De Kock, Charlotte (PhD, Criminology) is a lecturer, postdoctoral researcher and academic consultant at the Faculty of Law and Criminology (Ghent University) where she is co-chair of the faculty diversity board, substitute member of the Board of Governors and member of the Institute for Social Drug Research (ISD) and the Centre for the Social Study of Migration and Refugees (CESSMIR).
Her main research focus is the substance use migration nexus. She coordinated and conducted several research projects concerned with substance use among migrants, intervention research and drug-related crime during the past decade and published extensively in the field. Her research is funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office, the Belgian Federal Agency for the Reception of Asylum Applicants (Fedasil), Ghent University Special Research Fund, the Flemish Fund for Scientific Research and the European Drugs Agency. She is peer reviewer and editorial member of Frontiers, BMC Public Health and other journals. Charlotte is a board member of the European Xchange Prevention Registry since 2018, scientific committee member of Lisbon Addictions and the European Society for Prevention Research.
