Francisco Rivero is a predoctoral researcher at the University of Granada with a grant from the Ministry of Universities to complete his doctoral thesis. He holds a master's degree in research and intervention in addictions, a postgraduate degree in psychedelic-assisted therapy, and is an expert in mindfulness-based interventions in behavioral addictions. His research focuses on the mechanisms of emotional regulation, compulsivity, and craving in behavioral addictions and their possible therapeutic targets such as mindfulness. His doctoral thesis concerns a mindfulness-based intervention to reduce craving by improving emotional regulation mechanisms in clinical samples of gambling and video game players.
