Associate Professor Michael Fitzharris is a behavioural scientist and leads the Mental Health, Impairment, and Injury team at the Monash University Accident Research Centre. Since obtaining his PhD that examined the impacts of road trauma on physical and mental health, Michael has worked in numerous contexts and countries, including South Africa where he was based for 3 years, focussed on generating evidence-based solutions and policies aimed at reducing road trauma. His present research informs government policy on drink-driving, drug-driving, and medical cannabis and driving.
