About
Analytical lead for the Substance Misuse Demonstrator Pilot which is part of Better Outcomes through Linked Data (BOLD). BOLD is a Government data-linking programme which aims to improve the connectedness of government data in England and Wales, including coordination and project oversight, and ensuring analysis produced accurately and in a timely fashion.
The Substance Misuse Pilot project aims to better understand what factors drive successful rehabilitations from addiction for particular groups, such as prison leavers or rough sleepers. The ultimate goal is to use data and evidence to improve life outcomes for people receiving substance abuse treatment. The pilot team has already produced several reports on linking treatment data with criminal justice data, suicide data and homicide data, and have several others pieces of work in progress including large scale linkages between different health data sets, and the linking with the English Police National Computer (PNC) system.
I have worked on English drug and alcohol treatment data since 2011 producing Official Statistics and working on several pilot programmes including an RCT for Individual Placement and Support, and contributed to several papers in the field.
