Zero new infections of HIV among PWID, 4 consecutive years, a reality in Macau

In this presentation I will present the importance of a structured NSP combine with the methadone program that had lead to zero new infections of HIV among the people who inject drugs in Macau

Nsp in Macau was introduce in 2008 due to an outbreak of HIV infections , at that time not even methadone was legal in Macau

I will show in a practical way the steps that were given to today success and also the importance of the civil society and government work togetherr, how the society complain and was overcome and been today an important allied of the NSP.

Not many countries can proudly say have no new infections of hiv among the people that use drugs
