About

Sociologist, with a master degree in health sociology, she has worked for 7 years in the implementation of monitoring systems in the Italian drug addiction services. In 2000 she joined the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) where she has been coordinating the quality assessment of the country reports. Between 2001 and 2017 she has been in charge of the European treatment demand indicator (TDI) on people entering specialised treatment for problems related to their drug use in the European countries. Since 2010 she is responsible for the area of drug s and prison. She has participated in most gender related publications and analysis in the centre. Last year she started a doctoral course on gender studies, with a focus on gender, prison and drugs.
