About

Thomas Babor is a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He holds the University's Physicians Health Service endowed chair in Public Health and Community Medicine. His research interests include screening, diagnosis, early intervention, treatment evaluation, and policy. He has worked with the WHO on the development of the AUDIT and ASSIST tools, is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, and co-author of award-winning books Drug Policy and the Public Good (2018) and Alcohol: No Ordinary Commodity - Research and Public Policy (2010).
