About

The seminar explores innovative approaches to addressing Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), including the potential of brief interventions conducted outside regular treatment settings, which have shown promising results. It noted the limited research on harm reduction strategies in AUD, particularly focusing on alcohol use among migrants. Contributions include a review of alcohol misuse among migrants, asylum-seekers, and refugees, highlighting current challenges. Another presentation discusses harm reduction interventions for Indigenous peoples, notably the first Managed Alcohol Program in Montreal. Additionally, predictors of outcomes in individuals with AUD aiming for controlled drinking are examined, along with efforts to establish core outcome measures for alcohol brief interventions.
