About

Drug users are still at high risk of being infected with Hepatitis. The findings of the DRUCK study (RKI 2015), a bio-behavioural study in eight German cities, showed the immense need of facilitating specific knowledge about less known transmission paths of HCV, HCV treatment, HBV vaccination and HIV treatment. The HIV- and HCV-prevalence was highly spread whereas the prevalence of HBV vaccination was very low. RKI recommended implementing specific trainings on Hepatitis for professionals working with PWUD and developing and implementing hygienic standards and guidelines.
