Abstract

In this session, we describe the coordination of national agencies particularly designated to support the implementation of the ANDT strategy. Because of the broad approach of the strategy, agencies with different assignments are involved, for example, from the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish National Agency for Education, to the National Council for Crime Prevention, the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Transport Agency. As far as we understand, this is a new way to tackle a broad strategy. The wide range of agencies makes it possible to address ANDT problems from different angels. We will describe the process of initiating and developing a collaborative group with purposive subgroups.

Further, a description of how the regional and local levels are organized to implement and translate the ANDT-strategy into practical work, is presented. This includes how areas like health promoting schools, high quality health care, crime prevention, enforcement of the alcohol and tobacco acts, and strategies on gender equality and social integration can be effectively coordinated to optimize impact on the ANDT objectives. Finally, we will present our model for identifying and prioritizing initiatives for increased evidence and strengthened collaboration, and present some examples. Questions and comments from the audience will be encouraged.
