6. European Prevention Curriculum – a tool for disseminating effective modern prevention approaches and facilitating well-informed choices about funding and implementation priorities: reflections from Georgia
Abstract
For the last two decades, Georgia took important steps towards evidence-based approaches in drug demand reduction. By translating and adapting the EUPC manual and having our first accredited national EUPC trainer, we have created the base to roll-out the training in Georgian to reach more DOPs. In the adaptation process, various stakeholders were involved and, together with our recently-adopted first national drug prevention strategy, we can gain synergic effects to strengthen our national prevention system, make evidence-based choices, and put in place institutional mechanisms assuring sustainability.
