Collaboration between prevention work and law enforcement in a nightlife drug-using setting: a vulnerable encounter?

In this oral talk we will discuss the collaboration between prevention work and police focussing on drug prevention and harm reduction for young people in a nightlife setting. We have a look at the working principles of police and prevention/social workers (cf. core tasks, vision, finality), the context in which both professions can work together and the factors that stimulate and hinder this collaboration. We will close with recommendations to meet a proper collaboration between the two professions in a drug-using nightlife setting.
