Positives and negatives of short and long-term interventions during the Coronavirus disease pandemic period and the influence of the therapist characteristics

Thursday, 24 November, 2022 - 09:00 to 19:30

Abstract

During the Coronavirus disease pandemic period and given the new circumstances that were created because of that, we had to modify our services provided to the beneficiaries of our therapeutic programme. The lack of staff, the inability of the people in rehabilitation to access the services of the rehabilitation programmes due to illness, the continuous traffic bans due to quarantine and the operation of small groups to avoid confusion, have led the program to create new services in order to respond to all of these new conditions.

The new services that were created were by necessity much more flexible and with less investment of energy and time on the part of the treatment staff of the mental health rehabilitation programmes. This presentation will evaluate the new Mild Intervention service for released drug users, in contrast to the treatment that were provided at the same time in the therapeutic community of KETHEA ENDRASI. ( https://www.kethea-endrasi.gr/) The presentation will evaluate and compare the numerical and qualitative data between the Mild Intervention service for released drug users, as opposed to community treatment services, showing that lower investment interventions can be just as effective since the services provided are focused on the needs of the beneficiaries.

In the qualitative results, special reference will be made to the qualitative characteristics of the therapist versus the methods and techniques used.
