Psychosocial needs of youth using new psychoactive substances (NPS) in Uzbekistan

There is an increase in the use of NPS in Uzbekistan and worldwide due to the relatively low prices and the use of novel online sales channels such as “darknet”. The most popular NPS in Uzbekistan are synthetic cathinones, including mephedrone and alpha-pvp, and synthetic cannabinoids. This research aims to evaluate the situation related to NPS use, including users’ motives and needs, their awareness of harms caused by NPS use in Uzbekistan and their behavioural patterns.
