About

Irena Molnar graduated Ethnology and Anthropology at the University of Belgrade, interested in social aspects of substance use that led her professional career development to engagement in drug policy and its reform, on a national scale but as well internationally. She is an active advocate for sustainability of harm reduction programs, devoted educator and mentor, researcher focusing on new ways of education and senzibilization of society regarding psychoactive substances and substance use.
She is holding a position of program development manager at the Institute for Philosophy and Social theory at the University of Belgrade, she is co-founder of NGO Re Generation, youth led NGO from Serbia where she is elected Executive Directress. Most recently she is active in developing sustainable harm reduction programs and leading a creation of the national response to addressing prevention of Gender Based Violence towards Women and Girls and well as trans and nonbinary people who are using or had experiences with drug use, she is researcher and advocate in the field of drugs for over 10 years. She holds advisory positions as a YODAs foundation council member, focusing on development of programs and Network by providing training and management of its project and programs. Last but not least she is co-chairwoman of the Steering committee member of Eurasian Harm Reduction Association, representing SEE, as well influencing and impacting the programs related mostly to sustainability and improvements of access to services of Women Who are using drugs in the program countries.
