Wouter Vanderplasschen (PhD) is associate professor and head of the Department of Special Needs Education (Orthopedagogiek) at Ghent University (Belgium). He is the director of the 'Addiction & recovery' research cluster. Prof. Vanderplasschen is a senior researcher in the field of substance abuse treatment and recovery.
