The symposium aims to overview recent evidence-based approaches for the universal measurement of cannabis (the Standard THC Unit, the International Cannabis Toolkit [iCannToolkit]), to integrate the multidisciplinary evidence on the consequences of medical and nonmedical cannabis use. We will outline why these approaches are a vital to advance the understanding the risks and benefits of cannabis use, and the implications for public health, research, and treatment. We will overview the creation of the standard drinks and how its significant impact has paved the way for standardising measurement of cannabis use.
